About Caitlin West
I fell in love with belly's and babies as a young girl going to births with my mother who was a midwife practicing in Everett, WA. However, my passion for birth began during my first pregnancy at 18 years old. I realized there was this huge community of women supporting each other through some of the toughest moments of life and I wanted to be part of it. I believe in the process and trust a women's body knows how to birth the baby she created. I am passionate about creating a safe place for a woman to have any birth she chooses and will support her journey into motherhood anyway I can.
A year after my first son was born I found myself single and ready to see the world. We packed up and moved to St. Lucia in the Caribbean to experience something completely new and different. My mother had retired a few years prior and moved to St. Lucia so we lived with her on the island for about a year. When we returned I met my husband and started a life with him. We welcomed our second son in 2014. I had a midwife with both of my kids, planned home births, and ended up in the hospital each time with different complications.
